Jamil Massey grew up on a farm in Monroe, North Carolina located in Union County. Jamil’s father died in a car accident when he was only nine months old. Raised in a single parent home without a consistent, positive male influence, Jamil became unmotivated and irresponsible in his younger years especially as an adolescent. As a young man, he began to make better choices and take bigger strides, to change his situation. Through the midst of trial, self-doubt and rejection, he persevered seeing each day as an opportunity. Jamil realized that he needed to use his God-given gifts and talents to be the best version of himself, if he were to be successful. Today, he is a family man with five amazing children...living in his purpose.

He would describe himself as having an easy-going personality, someone who believes laughter is essential and passionate about uplifting others. Jamil seeks opportunities to be impactful and finds inspiration in the stories of others. He does not claim perfection but always remains positive and authentic no matter the circumstances. Jamil’s goal as a writer and motivational speaker is to help others conquer their fears, so they too can reach their highest potential. After hearing, his story numerous people expressed to him how relatable and moving it was. Therefore, he decided to write an autobiography entitled, “High School, No Fool.” Although Jamil’s target audience are adolescents and young adults, he loves the practicality of his book. It can appeal to all people at any stage in their lives.
Jamil is a Best-Selling author and has received several acknowledgements for his leadership abilities. For speaking in Toastmasters, he's also obtained Distinguished Toastmaster, which is their highest level of recognition. He is more than elated to have Destined 4 Greatness Management LLC, as his management team and professional associations with Lens Evision, Austin Ink Publishing Studio, One Love Services, Then I Rise, Hughes Vision and Equitable Financial Life Insurance Company.
